Body to Body Amsterdam the Night Before an Early Train

Booking body to body Amsterdam before an early train from Centraal? How to time the hour backwards from departure, who arrives quickest and why to pack first.

Amsterdam Centraal sends early international trains south and east long before most of the city is awake, and a surprising number of our guests have one to catch. The question they ask is sensible: is it wise to book body to body in Amsterdam the night before a seven o'clock departure, and if so, how should the evening be timed? It can be a lovely way to close a trip. It simply rewards a guest who plans backwards from the platform rather than forwards from dinner.

Work backwards from the departure board

Start with the train and subtract. Suppose it leaves at seven. Allow time to reach the platform, dress and check out, and the alarm lands at around a quarter to six. Most people want at least six hours of sleep before a long day of travel, which means lights out by half past eleven. A shower after the session and a few calm minutes before bed bring the end of the booking to about a quarter to eleven, so a one-hour session should begin at around a quarter to ten.

From there the booking message almost writes itself. Confirmation usually comes back within about ten minutes, and a woman heading to a hotel in the centre reaches the door forty to sixty minutes later. Writing at around nine gives everyone room to breathe, including you.

Later departures loosen everything. A train at nine shifts the whole plan two hours later, leaving space for a longer booking or a slower dinner, and a departure after ten opens the evening completely. The only kind we would steer guests away from is a train before six, when any booking the night before costs more sleep than it repays.

Pack before she knocks

The most helpful step you can take is to finish packing before the session begins. A suitcase lying open on the bed will need to move anyway, and packing afterwards, loose and warm and half asleep, is how chargers and passports end up forgotten in drawers. Lay out tomorrow's clothes, put the ticket somewhere you can find it without thinking, set two alarms and plug in the phone. If the hotel offers express checkout, arrange it at the desk earlier in the day so the morning needs no queue. Then the room is clear, the bed is free and the rest of the evening belongs to the booking.

Why one hour usually beats two

Longer sessions are wonderful on a free evening, but the night before an early train is not a free evening. Two hours push the end of the booking towards midnight and cut sleep to the bone, and you will feel the difference at a quarter to six. One hour gives a complete body to body session with a clean ending. If your departure is later in the morning, the sums change, and our guide to choosing a length helps you pick between one, two and three hours. The eight-hour overnight at €1,250 rarely suits an early train at all; it belongs to a morning without an alarm.

Body to body Amsterdam near the station: who arrives quickest

Hotels around the station and along the waterfront behind it are close to several women's starting points. Bianka, Lucie, Molly and Violetta all set out from Centrum, Milena starts at Dam Square, and Danielle and Lea come from Jordaan, one of the quicker journeys on the rota. On a tight evening, naming two of them in the first message gives the best chance of an exact start time. The evening roster page shows which women usually work the later hours.

If your train leaves from a different Amsterdam station, the same backwards arithmetic applies. Tell us the hotel and the departure time rather than only the start you want, and we will suggest a sensible window.

Should a strike or a timetable change push your train to the following day, the evening simply opens up again. Tell us in the thread, and a second booking on the new last night is easy to arrange.

Shower tonight, not tomorrow

Oil left on the skin overnight transfers to the sheets and demands a longer shower in the morning, exactly when minutes are scarce. Rinse properly after the session instead: warm water and a little soap, and you are ready for bed in ten minutes. A glass of water on the nightstand is worth pouring too. In the morning there is nothing to settle, because the hour was paid at the door when she arrived, in cash, by card or in crypto.

Keeping the evening calm

The appeal of a booking before an early train lies in the contrast between a slow, warm hour and a brisk morning. Protect that contrast. Eat a light dinner early, skip the late bar, and resist answering work messages once she has left. Our page on body to body at your hotel covers crossing the lobby, lifts that want a key card and the moment the room number is shared, so none of that needs thought on a night like this one.

Guests who get the timing right tend to describe the next morning in the same words: the easiest departure of the whole trip. Guests under 21 are never booked, whatever the timetable says.
