Ask ten people what body to body means and you will collect ten guesses, most of them borrowed from film, rumour or clumsily translated advertising. The practical answer is plainer and far more interesting. Body to body is a massage in which the woman uses much more than her hands: warm oil, her forearms and torso, and the measured weight of her whole body carried in long, overlapping passes. That is the format as it is practised here, and every one of the fifteen women on our Amsterdam roster of portraits was chosen for her ability to give it well. This guide explains the method from the inside, then turns to the part most explanations skip, which is how strongly the individual woman shapes it.
What body to body means, taken apart
Remove the mystique and a session rests on four materials. Each one is simple; the craft lies in combining them for an hour or more without a visible seam.
- Oil. Warmed slightly above skin temperature and spread thinly, enough to let skin glide over skin without sliding out of control. Cold or excessive oil spoils a session faster than any clumsy stroke could.
- Contact. The working surface is broad: palms at first, then forearms, then the length of her torso and legs. Broad contact reads to the nervous system as reassurance, where fingertips read as information to be analysed.
- Weight. Pressure comes from leaning rather than pushing. She positions herself and lets gravity press, producing depth without the pointed sensation of a thumb chasing a knot.
- Time. Each stroke overlaps the one before, the next beginning before the last has finished, so the body is never handed a gap in which to tense again. Speed destroys this effect, which is why the format refuses to be rushed.
Take away any one of the four and the session turns into something else. Without oil it becomes a stretching routine; without weight, a light caress; without time, an efficient and quickly forgotten rub.
A short note on where the idea comes from
Using the whole body as the instrument is not a modern invention. Bathing cultures from the Mediterranean to East Asia learned long ago that broad, weighted contact relaxes people more thoroughly than fingertips can, and the twentieth-century parlours of Asia turned that observation into a distinct discipline with its own sequence and etiquette. What reached Amsterdam's private rooms is a travelling version, stripped of marble and tiles, reduced to what a single woman can carry in one bag. The principles survived the journey intact. The venue simply changed from a bathhouse to your room.
What body to body means in practice depends on the woman
Every woman on the wall works with the same four materials, yet no two sessions feel alike, and that is the real reason we lead with portraits rather than technique. Angelika, Jasmin, Liana and Molly arrived through conventional massage training, which shows in how deliberately they place their weight; their sessions have a structure you can feel, and they like ninety minutes to let it unfold. Cindy, Laura and Luna take the opposite road, cutting the tempo nearly in half and repeating a stroke until the body stops anticipating it, a style you can read about on Cindy's portrait page. Danielle, Lea and Milena move easily between oil, lather and gel, so their body to body work borrows a little fluency from all three. Bianka, Karolina, Lucie and Nora are the deep-evening names, giving long arcing sessions that feel like one continuous movement from knock to goodbye. Violetta, based in Centrum, sits with the unhurried group and is often the woman awake and available when the city is not.
So when a guest asks what a session with us will feel like, the honest reply is a question in return: with whom? The definition supplies the ingredients. The woman writes the recipe.
What happens in the room, in order
The structure is consistent enough to outline without spoiling anything for a first booking.
- Arrival. She knocks inside her confirmed window, the rate is settled at the door, and a few minutes of ordinary conversation soften the first meeting.
- Setting the room. Her own linens go over the bed, lights come down and the oil warms. You shower now if you have not already.
- A familiar opening. Hands only, on your back and shoulders, at a pressure you might recognise from any good massage. This is deliberate, because a body relaxes first into what it knows.
- The widening. Forearms take over from hands, and then the long passes of her whole body begin, weight leaning in, strokes overlapping.
- The long middle. Most of the booked time lives here, and it is where guests lose track of both sequence and clock.
- The taper. Strokes slow and lighten rather than stopping abruptly, followed by a shower and an unhurried farewell.
What body to body is not
Clearing away the misunderstandings is as useful as the description itself. It is not deep-tissue or sports massage; firm handwork can open the session if you ask, but the format exists for broad leaning weight, and anyone who wants an hour of knot-hunting should see a physiotherapist. It is not a spa treatment delivered at arm's length by someone in a tunic; the intimacy of full-length contact is the entire point. It is not given in a studio or parlour, since this agency has never kept premises, only in your hotel room, apartment or house. And it is not a negotiation conducted in the room. What the session includes is discussed in the booking thread, and once she arrives she decides what happens as much as you do. Courtesy is the one requirement that never changes.
It is also not available to anyone under twenty-one. Every guest and every woman on the roster is older than that, without exception.
Five things to tell her so the practice fits you
The method is fixed; the details are not. A short line in the booking thread, or a sentence once she has set the room, lets her tune the four materials to your body instead of to an average one.
- Your usual pressure. Some guests like weight that settles deep into the back, others prefer the lighter end of the scale. Saying which spares her ten minutes of careful testing.
- Anything sore or recent. A stiff neck after a flight, an ankle turned on the cobbles, a sunburn from an afternoon on a canal boat: she will lean around it rather than onto it.
- Talk or quiet. A few guests want conversation throughout, while most drift into silence once the opening is over. Neither is wrong, and she follows your lead.
- Temperature. If you run cold, she can keep a towel over whatever she is not working on and warm the oil a little further.
- How you want to finish. A slow taper into sleep suits a late booking; a brisker close with time to shower and dress suits a guest heading out to dinner.
None of this needs elegant phrasing. Plain words work best, and nothing on the list will surprise the women on our wall.
How it sits beside the other sessions on our wall
Body to body is the signature, but four other sessions share the wall, and each is best understood as a variation on it. Nuru replaces oil with a clear Japanese seaweed gel that removes friction almost entirely. Soapy moves into the bathroom and swaps oil for thick lather. Sensual massage keeps the oil but lightens the weight and slows the tempo further still. Four hands keeps everything and doubles the woman. If you are weighing up textures, our side-by-side guide to oil, gel and lather set side by side works through them one by one, including which women give which. For a first booking we nearly always recommend the signature body to body session itself, since it is the base every other format builds upon.
Why the format suits Amsterdam rooms
A session built on oil, a bed and warmth travels better than almost any other kind of massage. There is no table to carry up a canal-house staircase, no plumbing requirement beyond a working shower, and no special furniture. A compact boutique room on the Herengracht suits it; so does a wide Zuidas business suite or the bedroom of a flat in De Pijp. The woman arrives with her whole kit in one bag, oils, linens, towels and, for gel sessions, a waterproof sheet. She transforms the room in a few minutes and restores it before she leaves. Because the roster lives across nine districts, from Centrum and the Jordaan to Oud-Zuid and Zuidas, central addresses are reached twenty to thirty minutes after the booking is confirmed, and that confirmation arrives in about ten minutes at any hour of the day or night.
Length, price and the practical frame
One hour gives a complete session with a proper opening, middle and taper. Ninety minutes is where the long middle settles properly, and two hours is what regulars book once they know what the format can do. The figures are simple: €180 for an hour, €360 for two, €540 for three, and €1,250 for the eight-hour overnight, a length body to body carries better than any other session we offer. A pair from the roster costs €360 an hour. The full card, with notes on everything each number includes, sits on our rate card page. Payment happens once, in the room, when she arrives, by cash in any major currency, card or crypto, and never in advance.
There is no secret beyond that. Body to body means oil, contact, weight and time, given by a woman you chose by name, in a room you already have. Everything else is her interpretation, and that is the part worth choosing with care.
