One thread is all it takes

Everything we do runs through a single WhatsApp thread: enquiries, bookings, changes of plan, questions at strange hours. Write as much or as little as you like, a reply comes back in about ten minutes, whatever the clock says.

We work in writing for the same reason galleries label their walls: so nothing depends on memory. A thread keeps the who, the where and the when visible to both sides, lets you book from a meeting or a departure lounge without saying a word aloud, and gives you something to check at midnight when you cannot recall whether you said eleven or eleven-thirty. The WhatsApp button on this page opens the thread; there is nothing to install beyond what your phone already carries and no account to create with us.

What to put in the message depends on how formed the plan is. Fully formed, Lucie, the Pulitzer, Friday at nine, two hours, needs exactly that and nothing more. Half formed is just as workable: tell us the mood and the constraints, and we will answer with two or three names from the fifteen, what each is like in the room, and who is free at your hour. Not formed at all is also fine; questions cost nothing and we answer them without turning every reply into a sales pitch.

A few practical notes for the thread. If your hotel is at Schiphol, open with that, because airport timing is arranged rather than assumed. If you are booking a pair or an overnight, earlier is smoother than later, though later has worked plenty of times. And if plans collapse, flights do what flights do, a short message moves or releases the booking without drama, since nothing was paid and nothing is owed until a woman reaches your door.
