One Hour or Two

The choice that shapes the booking thread is not who or which but how long: an honest guide to deciding between one hour of evening and two.

Every booking conversation reaches the same fork, and it deserves better than a coin flip. One hour or two, the arithmetic is transparent, the same rate laid down twice, so the question is never about value per minute. It is about what shape of evening you are actually buying. Here is how we walk guests through it when they ask, which is nightly.

What an hour truly contains. Sixty minutes is a complete session and we will never pretend otherwise, but be honest about its interior. The first stretch belongs to arrival: settling, the familiar opening, your shoulders negotiating their surrender. Call it fifteen minutes before the session properly deepens. What remains is genuinely lovely and has one flaw, some part of you knows the clock is close, and that part never fully lies down. An hour is the espresso format: correct, intense, and over while you are still tasting it.

What the second hour changes. Everything about the second hour is different because the toll has already been paid. You enter it already unwound; there is no arrival to perform and no ending yet in view, and the middle of a two-hour session is the only place in our whole catalogue where time goes properly shapeless. Guests surface from that stretch unable to estimate its length, which is the most reliable satisfaction signal we know. The second hour also holds the variety: oil then foam, signature then slow series, a body flipped from one discipline to another without a seam.

The honest heuristics. First booking with us, tight evening, curiosity to confirm, take the hour, and take it without fear of missing the point. Celebrating something, recovering from something, or booking the woman you already know is your favourite, take the two, because you are buying the shapeless middle and it does not fit in sixty minutes. Considering the gel or the four-hand pair, lean long; both formats spend their first act on setup and synchrony, and both are at their best after the point where an hour ends. And if you find yourself genuinely torn, book the hour and leave the door open: extending in the room is often possible if her diary behind you is clear, though it is never guaranteed the way a booked second hour is.

The pattern we notice. New guests book an hour. Returning guests book two. Third visits, more often than any other number, book the overnight, but that is a different essay, and a different arithmetic, and its own kind of evening entirely.
